How Does Reiki Heal?
(ray-key) is a Japanese technique for relaxation, stress reduction, and self healing. Reiki takes a natural, non-invasive approach that is simple, and is led by a trained practitioner by placing hands on or near the receiver's body. This promotes health through mental, emotional, and physical balance of One's life force energy. If One's life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick and feel stress, and if it is high we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
However, if one is not close enough to experience an in person treatment, distant healing can be utilized. This is the act of sending Reiki over a distance to a client who is not in the same physical location. Distant Reiki can have the same benefits as Reiki experienced in person and can be just as powerful!
Who Can Benefit From Reiki?
Everyone! Reiki is safe for adults, the elderly, children, pets, even plants.
How often one receives Reiki is up to the individual, although most practitioners recommend starting with 3 sessions to activate a consistent flow of energy.
Reiki is a simple healing technique that does not require anyone to give up their religious beliefs or change them in order to receive or practice it. In fact, people of all spiritual and religious beliefs participate in giving and receiving Reiki
Reiki and Medicine:
Reiki is used in the Integrative Medicine programs of major U.S. hospitals including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (NY), the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center (NY), the NIH’s Warren G. Magnuson Clinical Center (MD), Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (NH), and in small community hospitals like Whidbey General Hospital (WA) and the Beebe Medical Center (DE).
Two studies include:
Cancer Prevention & Control: Cross Cancer Research Center, Alberta, Canada: Study finds “highly significant reduction in pain following Reiki treatment.”
Journal of Advanced Nursing: Study examines select physiological and biochemical effects following thirty-minute Reiki treatment. Biochemical and physiological changes suggest increasing levels of relaxation.
Increasingly, medical research shows the usefulness of Reiki in pain relief and management, increased healing, regulation of blood pressure, and much more. As acceptance in the medical community grows, doctors, nurses, health professionals, and a growing number of medical centers now recommend and/or incorporate Reiki as a part of their total patient care.

CHAKRAS
Chakras are centers of life force energy (qi or chi) that correspond to vital points in the physical body. As the chakras spin, they vibrate with energy balancing the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical health of the individual.
There are major and minor chakras that span the body from a level of pure consciousness (crown) to the earth consciousness (root). In chakra sessions, we focus on the 7 major chakras and their attributes
Sometimes the Chakras become unbalanced and manifest as symptoms in the mind, body or spirit. The goal of chakra balancing is to realign the chakra in order to return the natural flow of energy to the individual.
